Welcome!

The purpose of the San Juan Heritage site is to present the intertwining elements that make up the San Juan county area - be they plant, animal, landscape, or person.

For proper viewing of Navajo words, you will need to have the Verdana Navajo font installed on your computer. Please download this font by selecting the correct link for your OS, uncompressing the file, and following the instructions in the included Read Me file.

We are indebted to the many resources provided by the state of Utah.

The site is not intended to be a finished product. We hope users feel compelled to add to the information presented here. Topics can be culturally specific, in a different language, or even accessible only in certain contexts. Historic or present day photos, audio clips, and even video clips can be included. For more information on how you can add to this program, please contact the Title VII coordinator at 435-678-1217, 200 N. Main, Blanding UT 84511.

This project was made possible by a grant to the San Juan School District from the United States Department of Education, Office of Bilingual Education & Minority Language Affairs (OBEMLA), Bilingual Education Act, Title VII of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Systemwide Improvement Grant.
